Evangelia Antoniou

Professor

Η Evangelia Antoniou is a Professor of Midwifery at the University of West Attica. She has a postgraduate degree in Applied Public Health. She holds a PhD in domestic violence during pregnancy. She was a member of the Steering Committee of the Postgraduate Studies Program, director of the research “Laboratory of Midwifery Care during the Prenatal and Postnatal Period - Breastfeeding” 13/06/19 to 29/03/24 and Vice President of the Board of Directors of the Non-Profit Organization “Fainareti”. She has extensive clinical experience in public and private maternity centers, providing prenatal and postnatal obstetric care services and care for women experiencing domestic violence. She has published research articles and reviews with numerous references and has 21 books. Since 1983, she has taught various clinical undergraduate and postgraduate courses. Creation of an educational program "Perinatal Mental Disorders and Family Violence. Counseling and Perinatal Education". Scientific Director of the Program. Her research interests are in the fields of domestic violence in pregnancy, sociological and reproductive consequences, perinatal mental health, prenatal courses, the role of fathers in the perinatal period, primary obstetric and gynecological care, public health, etc.

Panagiotis Boyatzidis

Ο Panagiotis Boyatzidis studied Mathematics at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. He completed postgraduate studies in Health Care Administration at the School of Social Sciences of the Hellenic Open University. He holds a PhD from the University of Ioannina with a PhD Thesis entitled: “Internal Customer Satisfaction and Service Efficiency. An Empirical Study in the Field of Health.”

His research interests focus on Economics and Health Services Management. His scientific activities extend to the presentation of numerous papers at scientific conferences with thematic fields of Economics, Management, Efficiency - Quality of Health Services as well as the publication of scientific articles in reputable journals with numerous references in them.

Professionally, since 1997, he has worked in the National Health Service, as an administrative employee. He served as Governor of the Kozani General Hospital “MAMATSEIO” (2004-2010) and Deputy Governor of the 3rd Health Region of Macedonia (2013-2015). He is also a scientific associate in postgraduate programs of the Hellenic Open University, the University of Macedonia and the International University of Greece. Today, he is Governor of the 3rd Health Region of Macedonia and holds the position of Assistant Professor at the Department of Obstetrics of the School of Health Sciences of the University of Western Macedonia.

Dimitrios Papoutsis

Ο Dimitrios Papoutsis is Associate Professor and Chair of the Department of Obstetrics at the University of Western Macedonia with a focus on natural childbirth. She graduated from the Medical School of Athens (UNAM), completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University Clinic of “Alexandra” Hospital in Athens (2006-2010) and worked as a specialist Obstetrician-Gynecologist in Germany (2011) and the United Kingdom (2011-2018) and as a visiting professor in the United States of America (2015). She holds a Master of Science (MSc) in Healthcare Administration from the Hellenic Open University. She conducted postdoctoral research in the United Kingdom (2018-2020) and Greece (2020-2022) on natural childbirth. He was a member of the special committee of the Hellenic National Institute of Obstetrics and Gynecology (KESY) in Greece ((2023) for the establishment of the framework for the establishment and operation of Natural Birth Centers. He has over 80 scientific publications, participation in international conferences and is the scientific manager of funded research projects (ELIDEK) and training programs (KEDIVIM) from the field of Obstetrics. He is a member of numerous Greek and international scientific societies. His research interests concern new digital technologies and innovative applications of simulation in Obstetrics.

Irene Orovou

H Irene Orovou is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Midwifery of the University of Western Macedonia and a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Department of Midwifery of the PADA. She graduated in 2000 from the Department of Nursing of Larissa and in 2007 from the Department of Midwifery of Athens. She has worked as a Nurse and as a Midwife in Public and Private hospitals in Greece for 23 years. She obtained a Master's degree in "Public Health" from the European University of Cyprus and in 2022 her Doctoral Degree from the Department of Midwifery of the PADA. She is a member of the "Laboratory of Obstetrics, Pregnancy and Postpartum Care - Breastfeeding" and Academic Coordinator of the KEDIVIM Program of the PADA "Perinatal Mental Disorders and Domestic Violence. Counseling and Perinatal Education". He also teaches in the Interdepartmental Postgraduate Program, "Digital Health & Health Management" of the MDU. He has 70 publications in international journals with a referee system related to obstetric care, epidemiology and perinatal mental health and more than 60 announcements at international and national conferences. He is a reviewer in international journals of the publishing houses MDPI, BMC, Cureus, Pediatrics, Dove press. Since 2024 he has been Guest Editor in the Special issue "Infant feeding. Advance and future challenges" of the journal Children of MDPI.

Maria Tzitiridou

Dr Maria Tzitiridou is a Pediatrician-Neonatologist and since 2018 Assistant Professor of the Department of Obstetrics of the School of Health Sciences at the University of Western Macedonia and member of the Steering Committee of the Interdepartmental Study Program “Digital Health Issues and Management of Health Units”. Ms. Maria Tzitidou was born in Katerini and in 1992 she was admitted to the Medical School of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTH) and graduated in 1998. In 2003 she was awarded a Doctorate from the Medical School of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTH) with the grade of “Excellent”. In 2006, he obtained the title of specialty in Pediatrics and specialized in Neonatology and obtained the title of specialization in Neonatology and Neonatal Intensive Care, at the Neonatal Clinic of the National Hospital of Athens, at the Hippocratic Hospital. He received part of his specialty in Pediatrics at the Kinderklinik und Kinderpoliklinik Im Dr. von Haunerschen Kinderspital, Munich Ludwig-Maximilian, University of Munich, Germany, where he received a Diploma in Electroencephalography, from the German Society of Electroencephalography (Deutsche Gesellschaft fur Klinische Neurophysiologie und Funktionelle Beldgebung -DGKN). He holds a title of Postgraduate Program of Studies from Boston University entitled "Post Graduate Program in Pediatric Nutrition". He has published 40 full papers in international scientific journals. He is a member of National and International Societies of Pediatric Neonatology
