The University of Western Macedonia (UOWM), through the Laboratory of Biomedical Technology and Digital Health of the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, is pleased to announce the launch of its collaboration with Amsterdam UMC, and specifically with the eHealth Living & Learning Lab Amsterdam.
This collaboration focuses on areas of shared interest such as Digital Health, Usability, and User Experience (UX), aiming to establish a framework for the exchange of expertise, teaching practices, and research experiences. Through this partnership, both institutions seek to promote interdisciplinarity and enhance the quality of research and education in the field of Digital Health. Specifically the agreement enables the exchange of students and academic staff between the two institutions, fostering mutual learning, skill development, and the sharing of innovative practices in education and research
The collaboration has been formalized under the Erasmus+ programme through the signing of a Bilateral Inter-Institutional Agreement (IIA) and is being implemented under the guidance of Professor Dr. Pantelis Angelidis and Dr. Linda Peute. This marks an important step toward strengthening the international outreach of the University of Western Macedonia.
Members of both laboratories will have the opportunity to meet in person during the upcoming EFMI Special Topic Conference 2025 (#STC2025), which will serve as the first face-to-face exchange following the signing of the agreement.
The Laboratory of Biomedical Technology and Digital Health looks forward to actively contributing to the further development of this collaboration through joint courses, student and staff exchanges, and the co-creation of research projects that foster human-centered design and innovation in Digital Health.
