Postdoctoral Researcher

Η Katerina Tzimourta was born in Thessaloniki in 1991. He holds a Diploma from the Department of Informatics and Telecommunications Engineering, School of Engineering, University of Western Macedonia (UWM), from which he graduated in 2015. He is a Doctor of Medicine scholar at the University of Ioannina from the State Scholarships Foundation with a specialization in electroencephalogram (EEG) analysis for the study of neurological diseases and cognitive states (2020).

Since 2020 she is a Postdoctoral researcher at the Department Electrical and Computer Engineering of the University of Thessaloniki, while she has served as an Adjunct Lecturer at the Department of Informatics and Telecommunications of the University of Ioannina, at the Departments of Electrical Engineering and Computer Engineering and Communication and Digital Media of the University of Western Macedonia in undergraduate and postgraduate courses. She is currently an Adjunct Lecturer at the Department of Mechanical Engineering of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and a lecturer at the “IMPS”Digital Health and Health Services Management“. Her research focuses on biosignal processing methods, machine learning algorithms and Brain-Computer Interfaces for the study of mental movements and brain disorders. As a Postdoctoral researcher, she has participated in 6 national and international research programs. Her published work includes more than 30 papers in scientific journals and scientific conferences, in the field of EEG analysis, for which she has received over 800 citations (source: google scholar). She also personally deals with rare genetic disorders and especially with the extremely rare Kleefstra syndrome.
